The Job
This South Carolina pipe abandonment work by CJGeo is in Greenville. Three jack & bore crossings were used as part of the Adkins potable water transmission main installation. The project, GC'd by Garney Construction, is 60" welded steel pipe. Each casing is 72" steel.

The Challenge
Carrier pipe buoyancy was the primary concern on this annular space grouting project. The contractor wanted to be sure that the grouting operation didn't float or deflect the new steel pipe inside each casing.
The Solution
Grout return at the vent end of a run.
Because CJFill-Ultra Lightweight is about 1/6th the density of traditional flowable fill, using it designs as much uplift as possible out of the grouting operation. It's also requires significantly less pressure to move cellular grout, which is up to 80% air. This significantly reduces placement pressures during grouting.
Due to the relatively low volumes on each of these bores, CJGeo used wet batch generation. With wet batch, a ready mix truck delivers the slurry, and CJGeo introduces the Aerlite-iX preformed foam downstream of the pump.
