North Carolina Polyurethane Grouting

Project Number: 5319

The Job

This North Carolina polyurethane grouting project is located at Elon University.

The Challenge

During installation of a new courtyard, voids developed under a large set of concrete steps.  The voids were caused by a large rainstorm that occurred between the step pour and installation of the top landing slab.  This caused fill material to erode into open graded stone backfill around an adjacent stormwater pipe.

The Solution

The general contractor awarded the polyurethane grouting work to CJGeo due to our extensive experience performing geotechnical polyurethane grouting.

CJGeo successfully filled the voids below the step structure with CJGrout 20SDB.  CJGrout 20SDB is formulated for high mobility void filling without causing lift.  This was important because the structure had not settled.  It took a single crew less than a day onsite to successfully restore stability to the structure.
