The Challenge

The project team needed to address settlement issues as multiple approach and departure slabs on six different structures, which were negatively affecting drivers. Repairs involved lifting up to four travel lanes plus shoulders. To minimize disruption, crews performed the work at night with staged lane closures.

The Solution

CJGeo collaborated with the contractor and owner to design a settlement correction program using polyurethane grouting to lift and stabilize the affected pavement areas. Crews used CJGrout 40NHL for this application. This high-strength grout effectively corrected the settlement issues and improved ride quality for the new highway.
