CJGrout-28FDL

Low Mobility Grout

kilmarnock fire station featured

CJGrout-28FDL is a fast, low mobility grout primarily used for standard duty lifting.  Due to its fast speed, it is less suited for soil injection. However, is very well suited for differential settlement correction in dry environment, lightly loaded or small slabs, such as commercial floors.  This CJGrout system has proven to be an incredibly versatile low mobility grout for use in applications from floor settlement correction, to loading dock ramp lifting.

Past projects with 28FDL include slab on grade corridor settlement in a school in Princeton, West Virginia, lifting 6,000 square feet of flex space building floor up to 9 inches in Boston, Massachusetts, and differential settlement correction of the first floor inside the ISAT Building at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Typical Uses

The most common use for this geotechnical polyurethane grout is correcting differential settlement. This can include voids around underground structures, large voids below floors, and sinkholes. Inside buildings, lifting floors affected by settlement is very common.

Physical Properties

With a bearing capacity of 5KSF, this grout is great for use under light to moderate loads. The free rise density is 2.8lb/cuft. The packed density is 4lb/cuft. Packed, the bearing capacity increases to more than 6.5KSF.

Installation

Like all plural component polyurethanes, CJGrout 28FDL uses high pressure impingement mixing. The system pressures are approximately 1000psi. However once the material leaves the mixing tip, it goes to atmospheric pressure.

The grout expands up to 18 times its liquid volume during the expansion phase. However, if there is any back pressure, the grout will end up denser. Because the rise time is longer than the tack free time, there is good lifting capacity.

Plural component geotechnical polyurethane raw material is transported and stored in IBC totes. Because of this universal packaging and ease of transport, significant quantities of material can be stockpiled onsite. A single semi load of IBC totes will provide up to 400CY of in place material. This allows for placing significant quantities of material with very little transportation and logistics related risks.
