Warehouse Floor Lifting

Warehouse Floor Lifting, Laurel, Maryland

Problem:

Interior floor of warehouse settled 1.5 inches adjacent to exterior wall. Steel building structural members rested on independent spread footing around the perimeter of the building. Poor compaction of backfill material during initial construction was identified as the cause of floor settlement. Affected area was approximately 2,000 square feet, with settlement terminating approximately 10 feet in from exterior wall.

Constraints:

Tenants were moving out at end of lease, and work had to be completed quickly to facilitate move in of new tenants.

Solution:

High density polyurethane grouting  for foundation repair to raise the settled slabs back to their original position.

Results:

CJGeo polyurethane grouting crew raised the entire affected area back to its original elevation in fewer than six hours. The area was immediately open to traffic afterwards.
