Sidewalk Polyurethane Injection

Polyurethane injection for sidewalk lifting, Greensboro, North Carolina

Problem:

Sidewalk at fast food restaurant settled against the adjacent curb, creating the trip hazard.  The area affected was approximately 80 feet long, and 4 feet wide.  The sidewalk was dropped between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch below the top of the curb.

Solution:

Polyurethane grouting crew completed polyurethane injection to raise the sidewalk back to its original position in less than two hours.  The restaurant is closed one day per week, so the work was completed on that day.   Polyurethane injection to raise the concrete sidewalk slabs cost approximately 1/10 the cost of replacement.

Polyurethane grouting lifts settled concrete by injecting lightweight, high density polyurethane under the concrete through dime-size holes, where it expands to fill voids and push the concrete back up. Foam jacking is excellent for sidewalk repair because the holes are small, the repairs are fast and do not disturb the surrounding landscape.
