Drive Thru Lifting

Drive thru slab lifting, Wilmington, NC

Problem:

Drive thru slabs at fast-food restaurant settled, causing a significant bump. Customer wanted to correct bump and help protect the slabs from further deterioration on the single day the restaurant was closed, and be able to use the drive thru the next day without interruption. The slabs were 8 inches thick.

Solution:

High density polyurethane grouting. Even in the limited time of the restaurant’s closure, joint sawing, stabilization & lifting could all be completed with plenty of time to spare, and no effect on normal operations.

Results:

CJGeo polyurethane grouting crew installed NCFI high density polyurethane to raise the settled portion of the drive thru back into its original position. Additional high density polyurethane was then installed under the adjacent slab and curbing to ensure they were stable, as well. The repair took just a few hours, and customers were able to use the drive thru the next morning for breakfast.
